China has probably the highest EPS (Styrofoam) recycling rate in the world. More than 92% of waste EPS are collected and transported to recyclers to make PS pellets. Thanks to the low cost less skilled labour force and redundant labour from countryside, all kinds of scraps that can be sold for money are collected and pre-sorted manually before the trash are send to incineration or landfill.
